Stellar Kart To Release New Album

Yes,its true. Christian pop/punk rock band Stellar Kart, will be releasing a brand new album on July 26, 2011. The title of the album is "Disney EP", a collection of classic Disney songs,Stellar Kart style. This will be Stellar Kart's 5th album. It follows up the 2009 release of "Everything Is Different Now." Stellar Kart has been a youth favorite for more than 5 years,and continue to top the charts with their excellent lyrics and jumpy pop/punk style. The album will be available on iTunes on the 26th as well. Not exactly a "Christian" album, but none the less and album that I'm sure will bring back many memories. Hey, if the Jonas Brothers can do it, why can't Stellar Kart?!!!!!!!

Busy!!

Oh,it has been a busy week!! School,Fathers day,a graduation party,baby-sitting my niece and nephews,my brother going to Brazil for a missions trip....the list actually stops here. I have barely had time to play the drums!! (Actually,I think I' m going to as soon as I'm finished.)
I read a verse in Corinthians on Friday that talked about what love is. I never really thought about
it until I read it. It talked about how love is unselfish,and not jealous. How it is patient and gentle and kind.
The love doesn't necessarily,"flow" when your busy. It made me think about the fact that I hadn't really been showing any of these qualities over the past week. Usually when I'm talking with my brother I jokingly say something mean about something he likes or wants to do. He'll laugh along with me,and I'll take that as showing love. But,love doesn't even jokingly say rude things. It always protects. So,I challenge you:The next time you think about jokingly saying something mean about something or someone,remember that true love really wants to show kindness and gentleness. Not jokes.

Alright. I realize this video is a little weird. DON"T PANIC!! They don't act like this all the time. Its
a uh,a uh,.....Alright their being WEIRD!! But,it does have a message that is fading from this world.
Its a message that needs to be heard. RIGHT NOW!! So many people are worried about how they look,how they act (as you can tell these guys don't really care at all about how they act in this particular video:D) and people are just plain out worried about what others think about them. These kind of people are constantly under the scrutiny of others. As Christians,we CANNOT be that way. We have to be innocent. We are Gods wholeheartedly. Just like this song says. That is why I LOVE it soooooo much. I hope you learn a lot from it and are reminded that you need to be innocent. You are Gods and nobody can tell you any less. In Romans 12:1-2 it says,"Be not conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." If you don't have Jesus Christ living in your heart,then you are one of these people. Whether you like to admit it or not. So the big question this particular song presents is: Are you innocent? Enjoy,and don't freak!!

Double Bass:Handy,but complecated!!

Have you ever tried helping your father fix a double bass peddle? One that has been broken for,oh I don't know,8 years!! Well,it needs some work. A new tap screw,a spring for the peddle and a couple of other small things. Its funny how all these small springs and screws make up a medal foot shaped thing that you push with your foot against a bass to make a loud "THUMP!!" Isn't it? But,its all worth it,because a bass drum is the most important part of the drumset. It makes all of the fills and not to mention it is really fun when you hit it to a fast beat!! We'll see how this double bass works out for me. I'm so used to just hitting the one peddle,that it may take awhile for me to get used to it.But,there is only one way to find out. Play.

   Hannah here!!This is one of my favorite videos from Barlow girl! They are so awesome!There stands on dating,boys,and purity are one of the main things I like them for,but there lyrics in this song are really good.
   This song is about not conforming to this world or trying to be part christian, part world.'Cause it doesn't work!  Jesus said you can't serve to masters.You choose God or the world but that's it!!Hopefully you will do what Barlow Girl did in this video and choose God, then spread it to everyone else!!

Future Plans??

So,does anyone have any future,"music" plans? Like,do you want to,be a single artist,or maybe be a member of a band? Let me pose this question:Does anyone feel God calling them to spread His word through music? Maybe,for now,its just leading worship at your church or youth group,but God can take anything and make it into something beautiful. I'm feeling God calling me into the music biz. Not only do I love to drum,but I love to sing too. Its one of my favorite things to do. I also write songs,although there not very good. Music isn't something I'm "focused" on right now. I mean I have to finish school,and stuff like that. But when the time comes,I'm hoping to be ready for any challenge. Music business isn't the sweet life you know. It requires TONS of hard work and dedication. You really have to be dedicated to it to do it. Whenever I feel uncertain about my future,like for example,sometimes I'll think,"Maybe I will never get into the music business,or what if I never get married?" (Trust me,these are random examples!!) Whenever that happens I think and reflect on Jeremiah 29:11 which says,"For I know the plans I have for you,declares the Lord. "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you,plans to give you a hope and a future." Sounds pretty comforting huh? Take it from someone who has to reflect on it a LOT!! Gods word never fails,and He knows your future better then anybody else. He knew your future before the world was put into motion. So,there is no reason to doubt Him whatsoever. He loves you and has promised to give you a future. If your not sure,just look up Jeremiah 29:11.

Welcome all!! Before I get started,I just want to say that you don't HAVE to be a drummer to be a member of this blog. Its just a creative way for any Christian drummer to interact with other Christian drummers. I'll be posting scripture and music videos from bands like ,Stellar Kart and Barlowgirl for example. You can also get drumming tips from me and share your tips with others.
